I went down to the local exhaust shop with my 07 F150 STX with a 4.6L and had them dual out my exhaust. He installed a cheryybomb vorex muffler and then dualed out the tail pipes straight out the back with 3" tips. $411 after taxes. I like the looks a lot. Anyways, after driving for several days it slowly got on my nerves. My wife flipped out about it. LOL Anyways, after hitting the highway I realized this wasn't for me.
I took it back and he installed a OEM muffler that he said wasn't as long as the original and should still flow good. $75 after tax. It is now close to stock and much better sounding. Am I still getting any performance out of this now? I feel like I have wasted $500 on nothing except dual exhaust tips.
It runs good now. I guess I am just wanting someone to make me feek better. LOL I basically dumped $500 into having dual exhaust tips. I guess that is part of the game with trying this stuff out. You live and you learn.
I'm sure the performance gain is well worth the money spent plus you'll get the $500 back in improved mileage. I don't know if thats true or not, but do you feel better?
