I installed the kit from Crutchfield in mine. It was very easy. Took about five minutes. As for the tuner type I have heard nothing but bad things about them. If you have a 6 disc changer installed you will have to remove it to make this work. Which shouldn't really be an issue because you'll have a lot more songs on the ipod than 6 discs worth. brand motion has an ipod adapter that communicates with the 2005+ Ford radio. allows control of the ipod by radio and steering wheel buttons and displays song/artist/etc on the radio.

The P.I.E. FRD04-AUX has a T on it. One side connects to the back of the deck, and the other end is reserved for either the rear seat entertainment or external CD changer. So, you do not have to give up functionality of either.
And, best yet, you can plug virtually anything into it...RCA, 1/8" stereo, etc.
