DFA cackle cure kit

Installed this Saturday by myself, and Rampage_F350,on my truck.
I must say that the instructions were very clear and the install was as straight forward as can be. The only hitch was when the instructions called for the removal of the single 13mm bolt for the idler Pulley, DOOH, should have looked a little farther and realized that the instructions meant the whole ASSEMBLY, not just the pulley. No big deal, just a brain fart on my part. While under the hood we also shimmed my FPR. First drive after repressurizing the system I could not tell much of a difference, BUT, after driving around a good part of the day Sunday, I could really tell a difference in the responsiveness of the truck, and the CC kit did as advertised, my engine runs smoother and quieter.

On Friday I did IC foil delete ( you guys that have problems with the adhesive removal just need to get the right solvent, go to auto paint supply store and tell them you need a filmless adhesive solvent it is about $9.00 per can but the adhesive will just wipe off) finish pipe by using a scotch brite wheel on a low RPM drill. 1 hr start to finish. I also vented my CCV to atmosphere friday, with exit right before fuel tank.

Next is Fuel pressure guage(underhood) and tank mods, will probably be replacing my turbo wheel which after 233K is starting to show some small feathering on the leading edges.

How long it took to do the CCK installation?
I'm waiting the kit to arrive this week and maybe next weekend put it in if I have the time available.

Way to go, Brandon!! My in-tank kit should arrive this week from ITP, and I will hopefully get it installed either this weekend or next, but I also still have to take the carpet out of my (other brand) SUV to get it ready to SELL!

I also still have a kink in my driver side Cackle hose. Meant to take care of it this weekend, btu I had to play stone mason again to finish up some flower bed retaining walls for Mother's Day - cost me a finernail, too. I'm going to realign my hose one evening this week.

3 hours start to finish 2 people, the hardest part is following the directions in order. don't get ahead of yourself. since Amiller was not avail. on sat to rattle of torque specs we retorqued all bracket mounting bolts(A/C and P/S pump) to 40 Ftlbs. If you have not done a ccv mod yet, now is a good time to do it as you will have the intake already disassembled.

Pete- I must have recieved on of the later kits that Jason was talking about (with the lengthened hose) cause I have no harsh bends, just smooth radius'.
FP guage on the way. In tank and prepump in the next few weeks.

Brandon, I think what I did was get a little "twist" in the hose on installation. The kink didn't show up right away, probably due to it's stiffness. Once it "loosened up" from ample heat and pressure pulsations, though, after running a couple of weeks, that was when we noticed the kink. I just haven't taken the time to try the UNtwist option. If the twist is not the cure, I know where I can lay my hands on a nice, sharp utility knife to shorten the passenger hose a bit and pul the kink out of it.

I'm gald you mentioend the torque issue. I didn't have a torque wrench when I did my install, so I just used 'calibrated arm power" to get the bolts to the right tightness. I've since purchased a torque wrench and will check them out to see how my "calibration" is holding up.

The only thing about the whole install that made me uneasy was overtightening and cross-threading the head fittings. With the stories of cracked heads floating around, I was a little nervous. Especially when working on a buddies truck!
