A few weeks ago I posted "helicopter sound" and got plenty of good advise. Well I got the Wicked Wheel installed and did my first tow with it this past weekend and even tough I did not have any mountain grades to tackle this time it seemed like it did the trick.(no turbo surge) Thanks to everyone for their input on this great forum. Next on the agenda is to install the AIS air filter system that my Son in law picked up for me this weekend. PS. When Wife asked how much these mods cost my answer is a lot cheaper than even one payment on a 08' truck!!
How difficult is the Wicked Wheel to install? I guess what I hear at highway speeds is flutter, but I'm not sure. I have the 6637 filter and some people say that it is normal and not harmful, but some say it is not. I drive alot of miles towing and how harmful is the flutter? I love the flutter out of the exhaust when driving in the 30 mph range through my subdivison, and don't to lose that with the WW. With the WW is the turbo louder/ how different is it from stock with stock muffler delete exhaust?
Yamaguy how confident are you at turning wrenches?
For a professional it's very easy, for a weekend warrior maybe have to scratch your head once or twice to figure out how to get the job done.
Do a members search for "Johnny8" and look in his gallery for a great pictoral of how it's done in the truck without removing the turbo.

Those are good pics kwikk. What kind of performance increase will i see? How hard is it to work way back there do you lay on the engine or what?
There will be no change in performance. You get that by changing the amount of fuel injected.
It will get rid of that pressure cooker sound and replace it with more of a whistling turbo sound. No more turbo stalling.
Some people report back problems after doing the job.
Yamaguy, I still get that nice flutter you are talking about with the Wicked Wheel and the same whine through the 4" exhaust. Get a nice deep tone having the Banks muffler on. The surge sound I had was just like the blades of a helicopter when towing my fiver up a steep grade. I thought it was the injectors but this forum set me straight. I left the installation to the professionals although I will install the AIS filter myself. (the flutter may be just slightly different) Yes, I turn heat on full blast in the winter and drive with the window open just to hear that sweet sound!
