Camera wiring question

When I still had my 97 F250 LD I purchased a camera/moitor for my 29' camper. It came with a monitor the size of a small TV. A boxy 7" wide x 5" tall x 9" deep. When I bought my 06 F250 SD I didnt want this monstrosity cluttering up the dash as well as not wanting to drill mounting hoiles anywhere inside the cab. I found a 5" LCD on line to replace it and can mount this almost anywhere. Which I think its going in the "Sunglass holder" in the overhead console.
Anyways my problem is on the new monitor there is an RCA plug, Positive(red) and a Black(neg) wire which connects to the monitor through a 6 prong jack/pin plug.
On the old monitor the monitor has its on power plug.(Red, Black & Blue <--acts as a switch to turn on the monitor when shifting into reverse.)
The camera has a 4 pin j/p plug that goes into the back of the monitor (those wire are blue, yellow, green, white as well as the braided outer shielding which im sure acts as a ground.
It seemed rather simple but I am unable to aquire a picture at all on the new monitor. What I had wanted to do was simply run "F"-cable from the hitch to the cab then "F"-cable with quick disconnects between the trailer and the hitch.
The LCD is a Legacy LM156.
The tube monitor has no name on it that I can find.
The camera has no name on it either. But it appears to need 12vdc to power it. So when and if I get it figured out (wiring that is) Im going to power it from the camper batteries and I guess put an on/off switch some where in the camper to keep from killing the battery over the winter.

Anybodys input is surely welcome as well as just a direction to go maybe to a web site help place.
I am electrically inclined to a point so even schematics would be a great help.

Backup Cameras..

I have a similiar deal... I have a 34' Airstream that I mounted a rear camera on as well as a camera on the back of my truck to back up to hook up. LCD has two RCA inputs. I ran 50' BNC cable with power to the camera on the back of the trailer. Went down to Home Depot and bought a weather proof 110 box for ouitside. Mounted it on the back of the truck with a RCA and BNC connector inside. Works great. That way your power to the rear camera is coming from truck. Look at the picture on my site below and you can see how it looks... Just takes a second to plug in and ready to go....
