Question brake booster

74' F-100
5.9L 360cc 2v
long bed
two door.

I don't have a brake booster. Do i need one because my pedal goes to the floor before i stop or could it be just a new mastercylinder

thanks semperfiob

Power brakes were optional on the F100s. Yours probably didn't come with one.

You have brake issues if the pedal goes to the floor with little effort.

Pump the brake pedal, then hold it...does it sink to the floor? If so>>> Brake fluid leak at the master, wheel cylinders or??

No one uses liters to describe a 360 or any other FE engine. And, it's 360 ci (cubic inches) not cc (cubic centimeters).

Feel free to ask questions if you need anything. You won't find a better source of info anywhere else.

The master cylinder has a 2 section piston in it.

When you press the pedal brale fluid is pushed through the lines to the caliper pistons and wheel cylinder pistons.

When the brake pedal is depressed ..the pedal drops to the floor and there isn't any sign of leaking brake fluid anywhere, then the only thing it can be is.... flow back of fluid back to the master cylinder because the seals on the piston in the M/C have been comprimised and the fluid has to go somewhere..thus making the pedal drop to the floor.
