Fuel Injection Intake Manifold ....upgrades?....Differences?
I'm looking into getting a new upper intake maifold for my 94 EFI 300, the old one is a mess and Im restoring my truck. I have noticed that as the years go the upper maifold seems to get bigger (the runners get longer). I bought one of ebay without much question a while ago since it was cheap and brand new but there were no specs on it. Looking at it now the runs are alot shorter that my old one. I have "refreshed" my engine and added a cam, fuel regulator, headers and complete valve job. Is there any performance manifolds for the EFI out there? Otherwise which year is the best to use. Or will the shorter runs not have to much of an effect on the power of the engine?

I've had several of these intakes from 88-94 and didn't notice any difference in them. They do look different on the outside, but internally they have all been the same. At least they were close enough that the only difference was production tolerances. I haven't done any testing of any of them, but I am working on improving them. Of course I've been saying that for over a year. I actually have two prototypes sitting on the shelf, but I don't have time to install them and see what happens. I really don't expect much out of them; the stockers look pretty good. I just couldn't live with myself if there was 5hp hiding in there and I didn't find it.
