Hi, I'm new on here my Dad just bought a 2003 Ford F350 that was outfitted by Centurion and it did not come with a manual so this is gonna be really stupid questions.
1st, We cannot figure out the fog lights in every car I've ever seen there is a switch to turn them off and on we cannot find one any special reason?
2nd, We cannot figure out the telescoping mirrors the sheet from Ford says the mirrors were automatic from the factory but we cannot find the controls for them anyone know why?
Thanks blackhat he got the mirrors fixed the way he wanted. he was scared to just yank and push on them after he paid 31,500 he didn't wanna break it after all and neither did I LOL. now I have to hunt down why the fog lights won't turn on first I'll check the fuse.
Thanks everybody for the warm welcome. if I have anymore questions I'll be coming back here.

When you pull the headlight switch out, it must be in the parking light or headlight position on the dial. Also the fog lights only work when the headlights are on low beam. When high beam is selected the fog lights turn off until low beam is re-selected.
he said he had it on parking lights and headlight position when he tried it and they wouldn't turn on. I don't know if the high beams were on though I didn't think to ask because I figured he knew that when I told him my car turns them off when on high beam. although mine is a GM so he might have thought they wouldn't be the same. I'll after to check that out tomorrow.

Okay next thing i would check is fuses (fuse #43, 10Amp in main fuse panel in dash).
If fuse is good then check wiring to fog lights for breaks etc, check bulbs in fog lamps.
it was that he didn't have the key in the on position he thought he did but when I asked if the fuel pump whirled up and the lights in the cluster come on he said no I told him he didn't have it quite turned on. they work just fine. now yet another thing to fold the mirrors do you just push on them or is the something you have to unlock? again we didn't wanna just rip on the truck.

Alright thanks for all the help. normally I would have pushed harder on them but when my Dad hasn't ever spent over 10 grand for a vehicle and then drops 31 on a truck I'm not gonna be the one to tear it up. I don't want to die LOL
Now he wants me to pick out the best oil for it. I like Royal Purple its what I run fuel eco. went up (not by much but a little) and it was a little more free revving but I guess that doesn't really matter when its a diesel. what do you prefer?
Oil is like underwear, kind of a personal preference. Basically any CJ-4 or CI-4+ dino or synthetic oil in the proper viscosity for your climate and driving style. If you live in warmer climates or tow alot the 15W-40 year round. In colder climates you may need to run 10W-30 in the winter.
The 6.0PSD likes clean oil, and runs poorly on dirty oil. The oil is used to fire the fuel injectors. That being said change the oil & filter every 5,000 miles. Use only Motorcraft, or Racor OEM filters (Fram buys Racor filters and re-packages them). Fram filters are $15 at Wally World. Do Not use will fit filters such as Wix, Purlator etc.
You will need 13.5 -14 quarts of oil per change. Oil level should be about half way up normal range mark on dipstick (do not overfill).
Also by and use only Motorcraft or Racor fuel filters (cheapest place to purchase is your local IH dealer).
Go down to the 6.0 section of the forum and read up on oil and filters. Look at the posts by Beachbumcook he has lots of good info and pictures of proper oil and fuel filters.
If you haven't done it yet down load the Operator Manual and Diesel supplement at the web link i posted in my first post.
