265/75 R15's

Are 265/75 R15s the same size as 31x10.5x15s? I used to have 31s on my truck and I bought a set of 265/75 R15s. I was told they are the same size but a bit taller. Will they fit right or will they rub when I turn the wheel. I hope the fit cause I bought them brand new for $290 for a set of 4, and they are real nice tires.

The 265/75 15 on my truck aren't much taller than the 235/75 15 just about 30 in tall but not all that much wider than stockers if laying side by side. But it will vary with manufacturer . I usually run 31's they fill the wheel well more and are wider. but this truck had new 265 /75/15 on it. There is no rubber what so ever.

I held the 265s up to the 235s and they seemed alot taller to me. It may be different inflated and weighed down tho. If they are smaller than the 31x10.5x15 then I should be fine. Thanks alot.

On my dad's truck (95 F150 4x4 off-road x-cab) he runs 31X10.50's, but still has the original mounted spare 265/75 in the garage. I sat it up next to the wheel while it was off the truck while we were replacing the spring hangers and it looked just a little taller at the sidewall, but a little narrower at the tread. I don't think it would be any problem though, I know I wouldn't hesitate to run them if I got a good deal on them.

Specs taken from tirerack.com, from a firestone destination tire.

265/75/15 section width 10.7 inches, overall diameter 30.6 inches.
31x10.50/15 section width 10.5 inches, overall diameter 30.5 inches.

The differences are so small, you wont notice a difference.
