Exhaust noise or problem?
I was on my way home from work last night and noticed that when the truck was idling, I can hear what sounds like something rattling under the truck. Once I got home, I crawled under the truck while it was running and the noise is only coming from inside the exhaust pipe, more noticably in the down pipe. Ive got an 04 6.0 with an auto. Bone stock except for cat and mufler delete pipes, and an Edge EZ towing chip which hardly ever comes out of the 20 hp setting. Anybody else ever heard what I am talking about? Thanks for your help in advance.

I had the same problem. Loud rattle at idle. If I out my foot on the tailpipe it would stop. Turns out the exhaust was touching the gooseneck hitch. The tech pulled it back away from the hitch. No more rattle. I hope this helps.

thanks for the inputamitch4, but the noise was inside of the exhaust pipe. today i took the downpipe loose from the turbo just to check things out and put it back together, and no more noise. Wierd hu? Hope it doesn't come back!
