Wait to Start remote install
I have been searching this fourm and others looking for info on an install of a security system that includes the "remote start" feature.
Vehicle='06 SD auto, 6.0L
I can't seem to find unity in the posts regarding the WTS (wait-to-start) wire needed for a true WTS function rather than the Timed method of an install.
I am in need to know the color code of the WTS wire and its harnessed location. As well as the Tach input wire.
What I find out here and other places is the old "timed out" way of an install. This will always be the same wait time wether engine is hot or cold.
I know a number of you guys have had a shop do this procedure, so I understand this is a "techy" issue. However, I'd like to tackle another alarm job but this is my first attempt at a diesel, and would prefer not to "hunt and peck" with my Fluke.
Also Since this was a diesel issue, I didn't know where to post this RFI.
Anyone find and utilize the WTS input wire and Tach input?
I've check'd several sites already, I thank you in advance for any helpful info.
You can not hook up to the wait to start light. It's a multiplexed signal going to the cluster. use a timer for 15 seconds abd you will not have any problems.
If you want to hook up to the glow plug relay, it's green/white at the glow plug module (passenger side by heater box)
The tuck won't start till glowplugs go out(up to two minutes when cold)
When it's warm it will start within seconds cause glow plugs don't come on for long.
Do the timer.
I found this link in another post if it's also help to someone else,

It's too bad the WTS ligt is part of a pulsed input and not a hard wire I was looking for, however it is what it is.
The next variable in this install is the crank time.
Will cross that bridge when there,
Thanks again!
