I believe Kwikk had to extend the length of the wire so the sensor would reach. If he doesn't see this particular topic you can always PM him.

I drilled a whole in the rubber inlet boot and inserted the end of IAT, I cant see anyway possible for it to be sucked into the turbo. Now if the the ceramic end broke off? That might not be to good for the turbo? I really didnt consider the consequenses of my actions until after the fact!

According to amiller93's post, moving the sensor should have no effect, but I've just spent the last several days pumping Jody for info on several mods I'm going to do, and he says that on one including him understands all of the 7.3 L PCM functionally, and he's still learning new things as he continues hacking into the Ford code. In fact, I learned that disconnecting the EBP sensor is a bad idea because in addition to controlling the EBP valve, it's also used to control fueling! I'm going to post this info as a new thread so more can see it.

Although I don't dispute that this mod might have some performance benefit, I would be concerned about the possibility of sucking that sensor into the turbo. There can be as much as 750 cfm or more of air flowing through that rubber inlet to the turbo! That's why the sensor is normally mounted upstream of an air filter.
I appreciate the info that you obtained from Jody and posted to the site. I have a codelisting the EBOP as a failure, but no CE light. I was told just to leave it alone from the local dealership. I have noticed that the truck seems to be down on power. Guess I will go to International and buy the sensor, clean the tube and remove the code and see what happens.

i don't know if the temp sensor effects performance... truth be told, that is not what concerns me... i am changing my intake setup to an AIS with the fender sleave, and i will have the temp sensor inside the box where it belongs... my reasons for doing this are simple... excellent air filtration, plenty of airflow for my application, and most importantly, cool airflow directly into the box when i come to a stop at the end of an off ramp after pulling a heavy load at highway speeds for hours... i have seen what happens to the underhood temps at that particular moment.. just when you need the coolest air coming into the engine because you no longer have highway speed air flowing through your intercooler, you suddenly start sucking in air that is hundreds of degrees above ambient air temp... add to that the fact that you are no longer flowing air past the tranny, so all that heat is also radiating up into the engine compartment, and you can see why egts don't go down... all that hot air gets sucked into the intake, flowed through an intercooler that isn't able to help much, then dumped into the engine, heated up even more, then pumped through the turbo... thank you no... i'm going back to the snorkel setup to help keep incoming air temps as low as possible and using the fender sleave to ensure enough airflow at higher rpms... just my own realtime observations here... other guys will probably reccomend better systems... i'm just not sure if they are worth the extra money...
