I have a 6x12 enclosed trailer with a interior cargo light. My friend pulls it sometimes with his 3/4 ton gmc and the interior cargo light works. When I pull it with my 07 1/2 ton ford with tow package it dosen't work. What wiring do I need to get this light to work. Thanks for your time.
do you have electric brakes on the trailer? if so do you have a controller in the cab?
What I am getting to is that thare should be a Fuse under the hood that needs to be put in. If you pop the hood and find the fuse box you will find a place that needs a fuse. Mine is #29 i think. It should be labeled on the cover. If you add this fuse it will send power to your trailer through a charge wire. This wire will be good for running lights and charging your electric brake battery or house batteries on a travel trailer..
Let me know if this helped.

OK, I was wrong,
it is fuse #16 30 amp(trailer tow battery charge). I would also check that you have Relay #39 (battery charge relay).
Mine is for a 99 F250 SD and yours may be different.
The relay box may be mounted to the side of the power distribution box under the hood. And in the power dist box is where you will find the fuse location
Was that inside light added after purchase? Sounds like the light doesn't have a good ground. Make sure your electrical plug on trailer has a ground going to the truck end. Ford doesn't like using the trailer hitch as a ground.
