another rehashed lighting Q.
I've read nearly all the lighting threads. But my question is this. My garage is 24'x24' w/10' walls. I currently have the cheap plug in type t12 40w 2 bulb types plugged into a double outlet (4 lights plugged in) with 4 sets(quad shaped 12x12) all running to the switch. so, yeah, 16 lights on one switch. PO did this. I want to switch to t8 electronic ballasts types. Do they sell a plug in type? or would it be possible to wire them in series by removing the double outlets? I hope to just remove the current ones and put 4' t8's in their place.

stopped at menards yesterday, they had the 4ft ones mentioned for 18.99 each. I stepped up and bought a 4 bulb recessed type and 4 bulbs for 53.00. If it works great, I'll just keep buying one every other paycheck. gonna mount it today.

The one I bought was for hard wiring, but I pulled the grounded plug/cord from the old one, and wired it direct, so I could plug it in. So far, so good. Perhaps, not much brighter, but sure is quieter.
