Flashing light on dash
I'm new to this car. I have a 2004 Expedition. There is a red flashing light on the dash, front and center right next to the windshield. I cannot find any info in the Owners Guide.
Any ideas??

My 2003 expy has the same light. My understanding is that it is showing that the so called security system is working. There is not a true security system as in siren that goes off when there is a problem, it is just tied into the ignition if someone tries to use the wrong key or monkeys with it.

It's a theft deterrent light. It flashes to make everyone think you have a security system. The only times the horn will sound is when you try to unlock the doors from inside, when locked from the outside (like when you stick a coat hanger through the window and press unlock), or try to start the truck with the wrong key.
