Just found out my 94 F150 needs a hazard switch for inspection a couple of questions:
Is the switch connected to the trun signal stalk or can i just get a hazard switch from the junkyard?
How hard is it to get at?
I have a shop manual but it is on a different computer which i do not have access too right now and i could not find anything in a search so any input would be appreciated, thanks.
if it'd like my 89 then your gonna have to take of the steering wheel to get it out. also to answer your question it is attached to the turn signal switch. and the only hard part is running the wires through the factory location for the new switch.
Yes the hazzard switch is part of the "Multi-Function Switch" which you can buy at any auto parts store much cheaper then at a dealer.
No need to remove the steering wheel to change it.
Remove the key cylinder
Remove the splastic shroud under steering wheel
change Multi-function switch
If it is the hazard switch that's bad, it's an easy fix. It part of the mulitfunction swtich (controls wipers, high beams, turn signals, and the hazard flashers).
I replaced the one in my 94 becasue my wipers didn't work right.
All you have to do is take the 3 screws out of the bottom of the plastic cover under the steering wheel, and separate it from the cover thats over the wheel. You can see the seam between the 2 pieces - it runs right through where the multifunction switch goes into the column. I didn't even have to take the key cylinder out. Once these are apart, there will be 2 torx screws that hold the multifunction switch to the column. Take these off, disconnect the 2 wiring connectors from the back, and it's out. Hope this helps and solves your problem.
