What's the best type of dana 60 axle

I am new to the who axle identification and I am looking to purchase both a front and rear dana 60 for my '75 crewcab. I want only the strongest and best axle under my truck. What year axle are the best? Open or closed knuckles? What does this really refer to? Anybody have any pictures of them? Also are Kingpins or balljoints better? Any good pictures of these also? What types of upgrades should I plan on doing to these axles?

I appreciate any help

King

Just get a matching set of D60 axles from a 78/79 truck. That's your best bet and they are open knuckle in design and this is what you want. A high pinion, king pin axle with disk brake.
