yeah, that's what it is. I called my local ford dealer, and they call it the parking brake adjuster. It's the part the attaches to the front cable and has the threaded adjument rod on it. That rod feeds through the equalizer that attaches to the rear two cables.
Haynes says that a part of the adjuster assembly has a special piece on it that automatically adjusts the pedal tension (it's the bent piece -- bent at like 180 degrees on itself, and then a little 90 degree bend on the end to make sure it doesn't slip out).
Ford won't tell me the part number, and they siad they couldn't get it. I tried LMCTrucks.com and they didn't have it either. I just don't know if a junk yard would have a piece in any better condition out here in southwest VA.
