I've got a '91 F-150 SWB 2wd, and it needs some cosmetic upgrades due to various roadside obsticles and what not. My question is-can the front end sheetmetal parts, i.e. fenders, grille, radiator support, bumper, hood, cowl from a 92-96 F-150 be put on my '91? I realize that in the end, it would be just about the same money to go out and buy a 92-96 F-150 and be done with it, but I'm somewhat attached to my '91 and don't want to get rid of it...just "update" it a bit. Also, will the Flareside box off of a 92-96 fit my truck with little to no problems?
Sheet metal will all interchange fine. You'll have to "make" the bumper fit. The mounts are different and due to the rounded 92-96 front the squared 87-91 bumper will look quite odd.
Look closely at this photo and compare to your bumper mounting to the frame horns. You'll see the difference immediately. The trouble will be worth it !
92-96 doors will fit too...theyre slightly different. Along the bottom edge theres a body line thats not on the 80-91 models. The no draft 1/4 windows arent as pointy at the front on the bottom either..
Ive got 92-96/7 door panels on my 90 and they look pretty good in there.
