I have a symptom coming from my transmission, I think. This only happens when the trans has reached mid-operating temp. When I come to a stop, or just before a stop, when the trans shifts down to first gear, I feel a slight shudder. Then when I start up from a dead stop, I feel the same shudder. I can slow to about 3 or 4 mph (before it downshifts) and take off again, and there is no shudder.
At first I thought is might be "U" joints, but it's not. I also checked the front splines at the output shaft. Everything is good-to-go.

At least our trucks, if the Carrier bearing bracket is cocked to one side that will cause it, did mine. Mines lifted and has a shim but thats what caused it to get out of square. Lay on your back and stare straight up at the bracket, if one side is closer to the front or back of the truck loosen it up and move it then retighten, it might cure your prob.
You might have a TC that going south on ya! Just went through something like this with my buddys 2000 Dodge Cummins and he just had the trans rebuilt! It all started with a small shudder and now she puked and has to be rebuilt again!
