I took the Ex to the dealer for small leak from main seal and overdrive light blinking. they didn't find the leak because it was so small and they replaced the valve body for the tranny. I wasn't happy about the leak because I really wanted to get it fixed before the ext. warrantee was over. After driving a few days, the tranny was stuck in 2nd gear and wouldn't shift beyond that point so I had the ex towed to the dealer again. They are telling me that they have to replace the tranny.
they just called and said that the inspector will be at the dealer in 24-48 hours and i have to wait for the authorization for the replacement. Looks like I won't be driving my ex for awhile....
If you can, make sure you take out all traces of mods. I mean, they will be able to scan the PCM if they wanted to but best not give them ideas. That makes them less likely to screw you on the warranty by saying "You had these power mods so that caused your trans to break. You are SOL."

I reprogrammed the PCM back to stock. Only perf. on are the aFe intake and the exhaust...
So, here is the bottom line. They will not warrantee my tranny due to computer tempering. I used to have BD chip installed on my PCM and the installation requires contacts to be sanded. Well, the inspector took the PCM out and saw that and threaten to void the remainderof the warrantee. The service manager worked him and they decided that as long as I replace the PCM, they will continue the warrantee but still no on the tranny. So I now have to pay for the trasmission and the PCM.
There is something good about this. (if you want to call it that) The transmission will carry 3yr/36k warrantee.
This is why I said before. If you want your warranty, have a spare PCM and program that one. Now, you buy the Ford reman with a 3/36 warranty. How do you know that this same thing won't happen again? That is why I went with BTS. No ands, buts, or ifs. It breaks, he fixes. Even after the written warranty.
