TPMS Retro fit/work around

All,
I just installed new rims on my 2007XLT 4X4 and I didn't have to purchase the bands for $40-$50 bucks a pop. Heres what I did:
I had my tire guy cut the band on my old rims and transfer the sensor to the new rims. The sensors have double side tape holding them on in addition to the bands. The sensor will be 180* from your valve stem. I had them stick it to my new rim then I used stainless safety wire to wrap behind the sensor and twisted the two ends together to buckle. I did this twice on each rim. Make it as tight as you can. The double sided tape was still really sticky after pulling it from the stock rims so I think that coupled with the wire is a good work around, instead of having to purchase the way over priced bands.
Hope this helps, I didnt get any pics it's pretty easy though. You should be able to get the safety wire from any hardware store.
