I have a 97 F150, 4.6L, 4X4 Manual M5OD with the 4:11 rear. I would like to know what's the best combo of bolt performance parts that work well on this truck??? The only thing that I have added so far is the K&N FIPK kit and that made a small difference. I am thinking about adding headers, a chip, duel exhaust (CAT Back only) and a throttle body spacer?
What combonations of performance up-grades have proven succesful?
Noting that you have a 4x4 with the manual tranny, you need to know that the headers, spacer, and dual exhaust will cost you a considerable amount of lowend grunt. If you use your 4x4 alot or possibly drive in areas that you need to idle in low range, you are going to lose power with these mods. It will make a difference at mid to upper rpms.
