I wasn't even born when they built Disneyland. I came along three years after it opened. But I remember dad driving us through plenty of orange groves as a kid. Also remember there being a big dairy farm south of Imperial Highway and west of Valley View, and it is now a big strip mall/corporate building site.

Yes, the urban jungle is encroaching, slowly but surely, up the coast to my neighborhood. It's kinda sad watching all the fields and orchards going under asphalt. Sierraben, my wife makes real tasty jerky. She smokes it and doesn't over season it like a lot of folks do. Goes great with the home brew.
