I can not find the spout connetion for my 1990 f-150 so I can set the timing has 4.9 engine can any one tell me where its located and what dose it look like

In the harness that goes to the distributor, hangs there all by itself, a Grey connector that looks like it should be pluged into something. It is just a plastic jumper plug that you remove from the spout connector.
