just spent 1/2 hour under the truck cutting off the muffler.
couldn't wait to take it for a spin so i hit the road with a big gap in between the cat and the tail pipe i cannot believe the difference!
the sound is awesome & can feel a gain in power.
tomorrow i'll have to get to the muffler shop to have a pipe cut to put in place of the now departed muff.
next to go will be the cat.
Tell you what... it may be just "Australianism's".... but looking at the thread title, I couldn't help but open it, wondering what on earth I would find.

well I got home from work to late to get by the muffler shop before they closed but I did talk to one employee just as he was leaving & he said they do have 3-1/2'' pipe so I'll try tomorrow, anyway I get home & my cat delete pipe was delivered today so back under the truck I go. 'bout 20 min. later no cat but lots of turbo whine. it is a bit more than I expected & I'm not sure how I feel about it yet.

The added level of volume of turbo whistle does taking some getting used to. But after a while you'll realize that you really hear it as you are accelerating and the turbo is spooling up. Once you're "up to speed", and the boost drops off, the whistle volume mostly goes away.
