My buddy has a 78 bronco he wants to sell me for $1000. Heres the specs: Rebuilt 460 4bbl, rebuilt c6 tranny,205 transfer. stock front and rears. 3 in body lift. new mickey thompson whels and new 35 in tires, new dual exhaust. The interior is nice. 1 quarter is nice the other is rough. The rest of the body is decent. Do you all think its worth it? Well i guess i should tell you what im usin it for. Ihave a 79 F-350 crew cab im doin a 4wd conversion on adn i want the bronco for the motor, tranny, transfer, and front end for the conversion.
well, if you are only looking at it for the running gear for your F350, the body doesnt matter a whole lot, so i think it would be a decent buy. how many miles are on the rebuild? and since its a friend, you could probably work the price down a bit, good luck
I agree, motor great, but half-ton front axle etc. on an F-350 doesn't seem right, and probably not an easy bolt-on swap as if you were doing an F-150. F-350 4x4 would use leaf springs up front.
Well heres somethin alot of people dont know. The dana 44 front were both used in the half and 3/4 ton trucks. The only difference is from the spindles out. The 3/4 ton outers are a direct bolt on to the half ton front end. The only reason i was goin to do this is because my 350 already has the coils spring front end. I was looking into using the bronco front with 8 lug outers and the coils off a 06 and newer superduty 4wd front end. The most im worried about with the bronco is the motor tranny and transfer i was just goin to use the coil front cause it was goin to be easier but im not for sure yet. i have the stuff to put leafs under it just tryin to get all my options under control. Ive got a thread in the 73-79 forum regaurdin front suspesion. Its titled The time has come....opinions needed. check it out. just thought id get an idea from you guys in here to see if the bronco was worth it for parts or not.
