Manual rear window?

What would be cool is to have a locking cap for the outside side that would open exposing a hex head or fold-out crank handle. It would be a real hastle to have to crawl through the truck to put the window down if you only had a handle inside like the passenger doors.
Could someone comment on the system the K5's have? I know that they were available with a manual tailgate window but I don't know if you could open it from outside.
