Upper Radiator Hose

I have a 2003, F-350SD, 7.3 where the upper radiator hose goes through the fan belt. I know there is an after market hose which goes over the fan belt. Does someone know who markets the after market hose and where I can order it?

Thanks

Rich

You could tell the parts house you have a 99 or one with dual alternators and they should give you the hose that goes outside thr belt.

I got mine from O'Reilly Auto parts. I asked for the hose that bypasses the belt.

That should work. If not, the part number should be F81Z-8260-CA.

What's the significance of the shape of the hose? Is there some reason why one is better than the other??

The one goes through the serpentine belt, while the other goes around it. The one that goes through is standard on single-alternator trucks, while the one that goes around is standard on dual-alternator trucks. It's handy to have the one that goes around because if your serpentine belt ever needs replacement, you can do so without having to disconnect the upper radiator hose (and thus losing/having to drain coolant).

Thanks everyone for your info. I need to replace the belt and to do it when I change that hose, so I don't have more work later.
