Australian VIN/ID PLATE Decoding
I have also posted this reuest in the International Forum, with some success - Thanks NUMBERDUMMY
The previous owner/s have mostly wiped out all the screenprinted writing from all the plates, leaving only the stamped numbers. The plate attached on the hood latch panel with two screws has two rows of stamped characters:
Row 1: 1G256 1470
Row 2: 1467 0127 0 4 1764
The numbers stamped on the firewall are:
BAAF
81
1764
04
I have looked at the ID sections in our Manuals but they seem to only apply to the US trucks, and make no sense at all with these numbers.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

You need to hook up with Pete...check out that thread. He's been trying to sort out his firewall numbers and ID the truck. Something about being being upside down on the globe made you Aussie's stamp weird numbers on your trucks...not to mention the oil probably swirls backwards in the engines...

Welcome to the board, great to have you! If it can be sorted out, these guys will do it...
