air conditioner problem b3000
1998 b3000 with the 3.0 liter v6. When I turn the air conditioner on I can hear that the compressor kicks on for maybe 5 seconds, then kicks off for 5, then on for 5 off for 5 etc.. Before I start poking around, does anyone know off hand what might cause this?

Uneven pressure in the system. If it's been a long time since its been charged, been recently been wrongly charged, or developed a leak any could cause it. Its kicking on and off from the pressure it senses, it developes the pressure on the high side till it reaches X PSI pressure then turns off. I'm unsure of the pressure it needs to be, on the high or low sides. If its available, try plugging the AC thingy and check the pressures.
