Hmmm, I've got an 03 King Ranch. Since I haven't paid any attention to the XLs, I ASSUME (yup, there's that word again) that if the two lenses are the same dimensions, it would be a simple 'plug & play'.

I'll have to look closely at mine now.

Are you referring to the Commerical style? With the old style rectangle lights? If so then you'd need a new Front Face Plate for the newer style and the headlights..

yeah, its got the rectangle plastic plate, with a full glass bulb, vs, say the one that you have on your truck ! i mean, can i not just buy : the lens, bulbs, and then somehow rewire the connections to the other

You can but they won't mount to the face plate or the back plate.. If I'm thinking correctly the headlight mounting bracket is different then the one for your lights. You would have to replace the mounting bracket, the face plate, lenses, bulbs, and rewire.. Best bet is to hit a junkyard and find a wrecked SD with a good front end and do that..

Hmm.. I believe you can.. But you would need the entire front end clip.. Because the 06 grills were larger then the 04 and below.. For instance in order for me to use a true 05+ Grill I would have to trim the grill to fit.. So pretty much yes I would say if you could find an 05+ in a junkyard with the front enter good.. Snag the whole front clip and you could swap it out..

You'd be suprised.. Clips are pretty cheap in junk yards.. They aren't as crazy as some folks.. They just want the cars outta there.. Me and a buddy went in once and snag the entire cab of an F150 for $100 bucks.. It was just getting it off and out of there lol..
