It was a nice day today, so I blew off doing my HW and took a drive down to Acadia National Park, and up to the top of Cadillac Mountain, the highest point on the east coast. Only problem was, I have my little trailer hooked on the back of the truck, and nowhere to drop it. So it came along for the ride...
She did pretty good for a pokey old truck, if I do say so myself...
I'm kinda regretting it now- I have a test in 12 hours, and I haven't read the chaper, done the HW, or anything else to prepare for it, and I still have other work to do to prepare for it.
looks like a beautiful place, i miss going up there, i have done many of flyfishing trips from mass, going to baxster state park, and the west branch of the penobscott river.
we found a small backwater pond that had no roads going to it,(gps) we made a path through the woods, dragged our canoes, and pounded all afternoon native brookies, that were running on average 3-7lbs.
john112deere, what's the star on the driver's door mean? Just curious as if it was anything special.
Well, if you put it on your mailbox 40 years ago, it meant they'd pick up your mail a second time, later in the afternoon.
On the door of my pickup, it just means I'm cooler than people with racing stripes. I've got an ancient sticker on the tailgate, with "Mr. Zip" reminding people to use their zip codes, too.
The guy I got the truck from somehow happened upon a post office in Michigan that had the three (one star on each door, plus Mr. Zip), and wound up putting them on the truck. They've been on there so long, they're as integral to the vehicle as the tires, now. (When we need to differentiate it from my friends white Ranger, we just call mine the "star truck".)
freirefishing, I have to agree, I used a GPS and an airplane to find a small pond way out away from civilization, then punched through a forest to get to it.
Worked good for me, some of the best fishing in a long, long time.
I thought spruceknob in W,Va was the highest point in the east, or lookout mountain in TENN. "O HECK", IT DOESN'T MATTER, IT'S STILL BUEATIFULL!!!! I love the mountains, I'm glad you enjoyed yourself, nothing like spring fever.
