I did the intank mods some time back, replaced the quick connects, and still have some knocking while at idle, and it's driving me nuts.
I have been keeping up with the regulated return kit threads, and in some cases there still is some knocking at idle. The jury is still out on the new cackle kit by one of the FTE members.
What can I do next that will for sure end the knocking, and not have to multipull mods to find a cure? Fass, Air Dog?
If you've done the intanks, the FASS.airdog options don't have very much air (if any) to work with, so the benefits from them will not be nearly as great as if you hadn't done the in-tanks to begin with. As far as what else you can do, some of the more knowledgeable folks will chime in soon and probably provide more helpful info.
I was going to chime in here with an authoritative you don't or do but I cannot be sure looking at what I was looking at. If I am reading that right, if you have AE injectors, then the #8 will be a LL. If you have AD injectors, and it was built after 02, it'll presumably have one AE which I would assume is a LL.
Have a look here. I will have to check another source unless someone else beats me, which isn't all that hard LOL.

F250, did your cackle end with this DFA's Cacle Cure Kit?
I'm, looking that now because the ITP's RegReturnKit is on the evaluation and they don't know when that's ready and it is also much more expensive than this DFA's. Is there a big advantage to get the REgReturn version?
Below you'll find a link to my rather lengthy evaluation report, which has all the details. In short, I believe that it definitely helped. I was able to measure sound reductions, and also saw some measurable improvements in acceleration speeds. By ear, though, I could not hear a tremendous difference until the system has "settled in" for about a week. I had already started running a 5w40 fully synthetic oil, which had already quieted down the engine a bunch before the cackle-cure kit was ever installed. Since then, I've also installed the HPX hose, which ahs helped even more. I can't wait until I have the cash to do all the in-tank mods and the fuel lift pump and extra fuel filter (and all the rest, too).
The link is in my signature below. Once you go there, look for the link to the "Cackle Cure Kit - Test Results (large file)". It may take several minutes to download, depending on your connection speed. Feel free to PM or email me if you have more questions.
I can't speak defintitively about the RegReturn kit, but the Cackle Cure Kit was designed to accomplish the same thing, but without a regulator and at a much more economical level. Jason from DFA can probably best answer this particular question, or perhaps Kwik as well, since he has done the same thing.
