dp tuner with 140 settings

dp tuner with 140 settings

when im ordering my dp tuner im going to get the 140 setting but i have my stock turbo and was wondering how long i would be able to run the 140 wide open before i start to hurt again

Keep your EGT's under 1250 and your boost under 25-28 and you will be fine. Tranny temps too... under 225-230 for any time lenght, a shift kit or valve body too!

i already have the valve body so hopefully that will take clear of that and also a 4in stright pipe exhaust with stock turbo

Temps get high pretty quik on 140 but they are manageable, the most difficult thing to do in 140 is keeping the tires hooked up

well on the 140 how much smoke comes out cuz i want LOTS of black smoke

You'll get plenty - Nice thick black rolling smoke.

Keep in mind though that a stock torque converter is not going to like the 140 if used often.

I was a little disappointed in the amount of smoke that I am getting out of my Smoke tune. It may be due to the 150,000 miles on the HPOP. However if you what some serious smoke go for larger injectors and a new HPOP.

I agree, I was a little disappointed in the smoke, I was hoping for more. To get a fair amount I have to stand on it, and the tranny doesn't like that (i.e. throw you in the back seat)

If you're trying for a smoke show, you'll get the best result by getting the engine into the right speed/gear. Just stomping on it at any given time might give you a brief cloud but depending on your speed/gear, it'll clear right up (and probably be a little rough on the tranny ).

Try getting to about 43 mph, in OD, and then roll onto the pedal pretty far (but not so far as to force a downshift). That should produce some good results until it gets enough air to clean it up, as long as you don't push so far as to downshift, then it'll shift hard and clear up instantly. The key is low rpms, low boost (and the highest gear possible so as to keep those things low for as long as possible). Definitely easier in a 6-speed as you can just slide into OD at about 35 mph and it stays there.

You can only get so much from stock injectors, though. (And I recommend doing this only on sparse roads, away from other cars. )

oh darn cause i turn it up for smoke when someone is tailgating me! i didnt know that i was suppose to wait for no cars to for that...... i thought if some one was tailgating they wanted a close up of diesel torque and power......

I really like it when the ricers driver window down perfect shot to the tail pipe.
it is funny to watch them scramble for the brakes.

LOL, now with my stage 3 MiniMee 7" stacks and H2E if i put on 140 i can block out the Sun,
so last weekend a guy in Ferrari360 modena, plays a J@ss and shows his girlfriend how smart he is, and was driving me nuts, cutting me off twice in a 1/4 mile, so i just about had enough of his screaming gaser, first chance i had i passed him , we giwe each other the look, mine was Evil since i knew what he was in for, and than it happen, i rolled smoke like hell, it was sunny and i didnt see his car anymore, he was LOL
after that he stayd about 500ft from me,,,,,
im sure he had to take shower after that,
