first of does any body know the stock hp and torque of a stock bronco, 351, e4od trans.? Also who make a great pair of headers for the bronco? is the K&N FIPK worth the 150$?
I'm not sure what the 351 2-V& 351 4-V engines were rated at,but the EFI351s started out(1988) with 190-200 horsepower. The 1995 Bronco brochure lists the 351 as having 210@3,600 rpm&325lbs./ft.@2.800 rpm.The 1996 brochure lists the 351 as having 205@3,500 rpm&328lbs./ft.@2,200 rpm.As for 5.8L headers offered....there are soooo many companies that offer them,I can't remember them all! Get a set of stainless steel versions-they cost more, but will last longer. The F.I.P.K. K&N filter is worth the money. You'll see a nice difference. To get the most out of it,add headers and dual exhaust.Don't go overboard on the diameter size, unless you plan other upgrades.A 2 1/4",or 2 1/2" system will give the best results.
I am not sure what the Horsepower is for the Bronco, I have a '93, 351 with E40D and would love to have the ratings.
A great set of headers for the truck are made by JBA, or Gibson, they're the same thing. From what I found, JBA makes them for Gibson. They are awesome! They add to the torque and make the truck sound sweet. But they're not cheap. I started out with the K&N filter kit that sits in the engine bay and replaces the whole factory filter assembly. The K&N is awesome and really helps throttle responce but it is noisy as hell. More noisy than the exhaust. I had to buy just a replacement filter for the factory box. It gave me almost the same effect without the added noise. The noise is cool around town but on long trips I put the factory back in.
