Transmisson!!

I have a 97 powerstroke automatic and the overdrive light keeps blinking and it wont shift into overdrive or shift you have to do it manually? what is the problem

If I was you I would pull the codes first and post them. Here or transmission forums. There are alot of smart people here that can help you out. but you need to get codes first. good starting point.

yep codes will be needed. most likely the Vehicle speed sensor on the rear diff. is bad or has a bad connection. you can check the connection first. make sure its clean and wires look to be in good shape.
