I have a 96 f150 that I want to put the suspension from an f250 underneath it(front and rear) and I don't know if the frames are the same. Some people are telling me it is, and some are telling me that it is diffrent. Any help would be appreciated. thanks
The frames have the same measurements, but they aren't the same. The F-150 cab & bed should fit, but you may have to drill a few extra holes here and there.
I don't want to take the cab and bed off the f150 I just want to remove the rearend with the springs and re-mount the f250 stuff underneath it. Also I want to keep the truck 2wd. Thanks again.
What year is the F-250? It may not make any difference with a 2wd but '92 and newer frames have an accordian crumple zone that the older frames don't. Are you going to swap over the front axle stuff or have 2 different lug patterns?
right now all i can get my hands on is a 89 f250 4x4. I want to find a 92-97 f250 4x2 or an 87-91. Yes I will be changing over the front suspension to keep eveything the same.
The rear suspension will bolt right in if the leaf springs are the same width. While you're doing this, I suggest inspecting/replacing the rear spring bracketry as they are prone to rot failure.
The front frame horns on the F-150 are different than the F-250...the 4wd's used leaf springs and had front leaf spring brackets attached to the frame that the F-150's didn't have. But on a 2wd, you should be able to swap it in without too much trouble.
