Nice pics Kris. Now I really wish I could have gone on to Smokin with you. Oh well, maybe next time. I guess I'll have to accept me and my truck being in a few pictures as a consolation prize.
Good job, thanks Kris. I thought you had better/more smoke than that. My bad, musta jumped the gun but I snapped when it looked like it was tapering off. Maybe Rampage got a better pic. That is him in front of me. Maybe your video will do it more justice.
BTW, who is that old dude fooling around near my truck?
Probably not going to be in the smokies next year. Not sure, DP will be completing their move this summer. May be held in GA next year although I don't know what the overall sponsors of this event will do and who they were. I would just like to thank whoever put this event on (DP-Tuner and whoever that diesel club was) and fed me and Kris breakfast and lunch yesterday, and provided all that beer even if it was not my brand.
Sorry Kris, didn't mean to steal the thread, just wanted to mention that before I forgot, carry on.
Kris, glad to hear you had a fun and safe trip!! I bet it was a hell of an experience!
Dang it though, I wished I lived closer to a lot of you all. The couple of people I have met through this site are the nicest people in the world. I could just imagine the rest of you.
I guess that is what I get for living in the middle of nowhere. At any rate- I'll keep up with you all here on the forum. I have learned so much and am thirsty for more.
Yes i think that was the best number. I saw 710 from it on saturday, but the day before during live tuning it was 768. I believe that is Eric Merchant's truck.
Empire, if you think you live in the middle of no where, you HAVEN'T been to Lead Hill. If it wasn't for Brian's truck shop, i think Lead Hill would fall into a black hole. Absolutely nothing to do, and the only place relatively close to eat was a market with a subway but we ate there every time we ate while we were there. And absolutely no nextel service within 15 mile radius. But, the people were really nice there.
Kris and Mike, it was good meeting you guys on Sat. Sorry for being so quick to leave. Like you said before it was great putting the faces with the names on FTE. How long did it take them to get the dyno back up and running after I left. I think I just caught a couple of the early dynos and that was it. I was sure looking forward to seeing some more smoke. Maybe next time. Mike what kind of numbers did you pull on the dyno?
Great shots!! Man that looks like a hillbilly good time. Wish I had known about it earlier. I would have gone. Maybe Next year. LMAO at the DockBoy bling. Talk about oxymoron.

Right back at you. They got the dyno running again late in the afternoon. Then the 6.0 died on it, and they fooled with that for a while before pushing it off. We got on at about 7pm. I got a best of 311/640 out of the three runs. A copy of the dyno sheet is in my gallery.
Not happy with the dyno, but it is what it is. 307hp and 628 on the 120 race tune, first run was best. Looks like i need to get a sink strainer sump
The track was a 1/8 and not a 1/4 like i wanted, but i ran twice, my first ever time at the strip i did a 9.84 but the second time was 10.3 something. Got a great reaction the second time but due to the tunes for just a VB and not the whole trans, the trans wasn't shifting into 2nd like it should on the second run, so i had to pedal it and let out to get it to shift and even into 3rd. Broke the grease fitting on my top left NEW ball joint, and got a nasty squeak when the axle shafts are turned a certain position.
EDIT- My dad said that if the rest of the guys on the internet are half as nice as Mike and his family was, then i am in a great group on FTE, and i agree.
Kris, You only pulled 307 with the 120 hp tune, i thought our year truck had stock 250hp, the math doesnt add up Whats up with that???
The rating from the factory (this applies to pretty much all vehicles) is the rating at the crank. At the rear wheels, it's quite a bit less. Dynoing a stock 7.3 probably wouldn't break 200.
Also, I believe Jody's tunes aren't necessarily an additional X hp. For example, the 80hp tunes seem to dyno near 300 hp, just as the 120 hp tunes do. Their performance on the road is different, however.
