Air compressor oiler

I just finally plumbed up the "wet" hose out in the garage here. I have a regulator/drier/oiler unit but I don't know how to set up the oiler. There are min and max oil level lines which obviously I can figure out. There is a screw on the top which is the "oil air mix" adjuster along with a sight glass. How do I set that up?

if you ever plan on painting, don't use the oiler. it will leave oil in the lines, and ruin you paint jobs. and once oil is in the lines, it is almost impossible to get out.
i just put a drop or 2 of air tool oil in the tool before i use it.

Those oilers are for industrial machines. They should NEVER be sold to homeowners or shops for air compressors!!! They can be used as a fixed station air tool oiler. All you need on your home compressor is a coalescing filter.

Look in my gallery for a point of use air tool oiler.

All my hoses are dry so no mistakes. I add lubricant at the tool. The central lubricator is worthless. They have to be within a few feet of the device that needs lubrication or all the oil drops out and coats the walls of the hose. Take it back and get an inline lubricator.

My oiler is a quick-disconnect in-line unit. I connect it to the tool.

Like I mentioned above, instructions are in my gallery for this one:

It has a super flex hose with a flex coupling at the tool end. I just plug it back into itself to keep it clean and hang it on a nail for storage. The oiler came factory adjusted and does real well. I have not had to touch the adjustment.

The only thing I have a lubricator for is my overhead hoist. Everything else, that is all my air operated hand tools, I just put a squirt of Marvel Mystery Oil in the air connection just prior to hooking up the hose. That will provide enough lubrication for 15 minutes of work. The only tool I use more than 15 minutes or so is my drill motor. Another squirt when you'r done will protect it from rust.

I have done the squirt trick. The lubricator I have is not nearly so messy and is better for the tools...

I do squirt some air tool oil into a new tool when I first get it then hook up my lubricator and run it 5-10 min at varying speeds with another squirt later with more running for break in.

Mine is just an inline oiler with the addition of a super flex hose to get into tight spaces otherwise the additional length of the oiler is a pain sometimes. It is also nice to be able to plug it back into itself for storage.
