I have a problem keeping a shine on my top. I did a search and read what a few others have tried. But I wanted to see if there were any new ideas on how to keep it lookin good. Thanks
i have been using armour all extreme shine and it has been working real well. The regular armour all wore off quick. After you apply this a couple of times it seems to hold up pretty good. I haven't re applied in a couple of months i just rinse it off good when i wash the truck.
It did streak some when i first applied it. But since then i haven't had really too much streaking. My top looks so much better that i'm willing to have a little hassle with the streaks. It seems to have soaked in where it is keeping a good shine so i haven't had to apply it very often.
On the advice of a family friend who details cars,I went to a local supermarket and bought some floor wax. Guess what? It makes the fiberglass roof come up really well! I bought Future premium floor finish for a couple of bucks...hey,it worked.
I gave up and painted mine with Krylon gloss black. I used to try rubbing all kinds of stuff into it, but it always came back worse after a few rains. It stays lookng good now. The whole job took about an hour, including masking off the windows. The whole can got me about three coats. I didn't do the very top part of the top, I stopped along the line where the side stops and curves into the top.
