I have a 86 f150, and I am rebuilding it currently. I found this steering wheel on ebay, and really like it. The owner said this:
"if your steering coulmn has a splined shaft, horn button thru the center and not the turn signal lever this wheel should work
thanks"
I'm the one selling this one and it was on my 85 F150, so I know it'll fit. If you want the Ford center cap, you can order them from Grant for just a few bucks. It's brand new.
Well...I didn't like it because it looked too small. It's only 13 1/2 inches in diameter. It drove fine and I had absolutely no problems with steering control. I just didn't care for how it looked in my big ol' F150. Now, if you're asking if it'll fit and work, it'll do it just fine. The base is a steering wheel kit for the 80-60 F-Series and Broncos. It'll fit the shaft just fine! You may agree, like I did that it'll looks too small. Some folks like it. I didn't.
Check with your local inspection station if you have one. In my area, 13 inches is the minimum diameter for a steering wheel, which makes that one legal, but maybe the rules in your area are different?
I had that kind of steering wheel in a 1979 F-150 and a 1979 Capri. The difference was the Capri horn is activated by a lever on the column not the button on the wheel. You might just ask him to measure the diameter of the opening to make sure it will fit your steering shaft.
