did they make a 1997 F-350 4 door dually 4x4 if not how hard would it be to make a 97 f-350 2wd to a 4wd. I have a 1995 F-250 4x4 I can use the stuff out of. so let me know what you think. THANKS
no ford didn't make them 4x4 dually, but they are out there. a few companies made them aftermarket and people often turn 2wd's into 4x4's or single rear wheel into dually (easier)
It not advisable to use the f-250 parts other than the tranny and t-case. the dana 50 TTB front axle is not a real great axle under these trucks. they do ok but I would not want one under a crew cab long box dually, they are bad enough under crew cab short boxes and extended cabs. I would sell your f-250 and then search for a 4x dually and if that proves near impossible buy a single rear wheel and turn it into a dually.
When I bought my PSD in '97 the dealer I bought it from was taking new dually's to the shop down the street and putting new 3/4 ton front ends and TC's under them to make new dually 4X4's. That is true Ford did not make them factory.
sell them botha nd find just what your looking for or a 4x4 f-350 single rear wheel and convert it. about the only way to go about it. I wouldn't put the f-250 front end under it even if you wanted to.
a f-350, a dana 60 staight axle is what to use. then you just need to get dually adapters or I have seen some just use the regular single rear wheel type wheels up front. but thats what you need. a dana 60 from a 87-97 will work great. even older will work as long as its 8x6.5 lug pattern
