What is a KAM error code? i did not write down the code number before i cleared it (oops!!). I think it said something like Kant Access Memory? the only mods i hae done are in my signature. I only get the code sometimes in my wifes excursion. Also, the throtytle seems to be very jumpy and sensitive, almost like it is prone to sudden surges in power (both up and down). Any ideas as to whats going on? i cleaned the ebp tube and sensor last week and it seemed to clear up for a week. she said its back today. the sensor was pretty nasty. should i replace the sensor and see if that helps?
I believe it mean Keep Alive Memory. I get hte same thing but i don't think it is a trouble code. I think the twicky throttle goes along with the evo programmer... I am sure some one else has an idea also...
Keep Alive Memory (P0603) and yes it can be set by just having a tuner or disconnecting the batteries. Just make sure it is not a P0605 ROM Error, if it is pull the edge and see if it comes back after clearing it.
As far as the throttle surging it may be an early sign of pedal failure (are there any dead spots in the throttle) but it sounds more oil related check the IPR and ICP make sure the connectors are clean and tight and check the brass nut on the back of the IPR to make sure it is snugg (52 in/lbs) and there is no oil in the ICP connector.
yes, sometimes there are dead spots in the pedal, right at the front of the pedal. is this a switch like a TPS or something or do you buy an entire new assembly?
There are two sensors the IVS (idle validation switch) and TPS (throttle Position sensor), But they are part of the pedal assembly. www.dieselsite.com has them for 120 if I remember correctly.
