i have a 2005 F-350 6.0L 4x4 and kick myself for not getting the Reverse Aid Sensor option on it when i bought it. Well i would like to add one on now, you can't get it installed from Ford, i've already checked into that but all you guys with connections with ford employees, engineers, or whoever, can you see if you can find out who makes that reverse aid sensor option for Ford? Somehow i don't think they make them and put them on, theres gotta be a company that supplies them with it, if i could find out which one i could get a system just like original
I think you would be better buying an aftermarket system.
If you tried to install a factory system you would need to buy a rear bumper, sensors, the module for the sensors, and so on.
I did a Google search before I started this post and found plenty of factory looking systems on the market for around $50.00.
Something to think about.

Reason: Prices
I love that thing too. Only one complaint- it "can" make you lazy, so you don't look as hard as you should. I guess that's a complaint about myself, not the product.
I will never get a system like that. I looked at the links that you provided...but geeze....if you dont want something to get backed over...dont put it behind my truck . Simple as that!
i agree with the lazy part.. i have the factory reverse sensors, 55w reverse lights mounted on the trailer hitch, and a reverse camera..now if i can just get someone to stand behind the X while im backing up..
I don't agree with the lazy part, what happens if your backing up into a parking spot and you have a low profile sports car that is in the parking spot behind you(or low profile bushes that don't come above the top of your tailgate). Your side mirrors help, but they still aren't a true accurate vision of the distance that you have(believe me I use all three, side mirrors, backup camera and sensors). Your trying to back up as far as you can go, so that way your front end is sticking out there and blocking half the lane for cars(or trucks) to get thru. Those sensors come in handy so that you don't have to keep getting in and out, in and out, to see how much closer you can get. Most of the time when the sensor starts to sound like a flatlining heart(which gives you about another 6 inches) that is usually enough for me to be out of the way to the degree where people don't feel like keying my truck for taking up too much space of the driving alley. Now your probably thinking, why don't I just park farther out to avoid all that, well, first I'm talking about your parking lots that have heavy traffic(universities, sporting arenas etc.), no matter how hard you try your going to have to deal with it occasionally and it does come in handy in those circumstances. I also don't feel like I should have to park way out in the wide blue yonder. I park up front with everyone else as long as I feel comfortable with trying to back in there, now unlike the majority of dually owners I can fit into a normal parking space as far as the lines are going(I might be stickout out in the front a little bit), the outer rear wheels might be touching the white lines, but I'm still technically in my spot. Backup camera will make you lazy, I will agree with you there, angles are a little more distorted so it looks like what is behind you is closer then it is so it is really just good for seeing what is directly behind, but not to really just distance, but you have to understand every one of these are meant to help aid not take the place of the driver paying attention. That is the catch.
