my 02 has the ford parking aid system.
when i got it, it would constant tone in reverse. i got a new sensor, and changed out the one with the gouge in the sensor face.
now, when cold, it works properly.
once the truck warms up, it is a hit and miss on working/constant tone.
when hot, it reverts back to constant tone.
any idea on diagnosis of the problem??
i think the parking aid module is bad.
the local dealers will only tell me " it costs $150 to diagnose the system, then you will have to add the cost of any parts to the diagnosis, so we can not give you a total for repairs"
i don't think i should have to pay them $150 for them to tell me the system is broken.
2002 maybe old enough where you could possibly find one in the junkyard.
Here's some places that have one, and they probably would mail it to you.
