My truck has a constant hiss when driving. I can let off slightly and it goes away. I've been searching for a while now and thinking it's EBPV. Found to check the IAT and oil temp sensor (thanks kwik and Alan).
Anyone have part numbers or is there a way to test these? Anything else I can check? Is it doing damage or can I turn up the music and get to it after this weekends 400 mile trip?
An EOT sensor signal that is detected out of range (high or low) by the PCM will cause the PCM to ignore the EOT sensor signal and assume an engine oil temperature of -20°C (-4°F) for starting and a temperature of 100°C (212°F) for engine-running conditions. The CHECK ENGINE light will also be illuminated as long as the condition exists.

I'm not getting a check engine light nor am I feeling like I'm losing any power. It started (or at least I could hear it) when I did the 6637. After that final whooosh into overdrive it just never stops the hissss until I let up just a little bit. Boost seems to be about average from what I've read. I'll test the specs listed above this weekend. Thanks so much.
