I have three of the Snap-on ones and use them more than the air guns. The only time I reach for the air powered ones anymore is for something that the battery guns cannot get loose. And that would be something REALLY tight like an overtorqued and corroded lug nut. I can R&R the lug nuts on my F-550 with the 1/2" drive gun. I know that because I used it to change a flat tire with it a while back.
I wore out the first one, had it rebuilt, wore it out again, had it rebuilt again.
Liked them so much I bought two of the newer ones that have variable speed.
They are pricey but in my line of work if you skimp on tools you don't make money.

Kilog the Milwalkee sounds like a nice gun. Before you put the cash down let me just say that the speed control on the Snap-On guns is infinately variable. I can take off and install a 5mm nut with the 1/2" gun and not strip it out if I wanted to. Then change sockets and go pull the lug nuts off of a 2 ton truck. All using the same gun.
The triggers are so nice, you can just crack the throttle and watch the the shaft roll over as slowly as a sweep second hand on a wall clock. Squeeze it all the way down and it has all the power you need.
The Snap-On's specs are 350 ft/lb with a breakaway of 550 ft/lb.
Snap-On's website is listing the price at $499.00.
I don't know what the Milwalkee is asking, but it can't be far off and with that 2 speed trigger it rather limits it's versatility IMO.

The Milwaukee 0779 28 Volt 1/2 in. Impact Wrench delivers 325 ft. lbs. of maximum torque, the most of any cordless impact wrench. Powering the 0779 is the revolutionary 28 Volt Lithium-Ion battery pack exclusively from Milwaukee. Combining high torque with 1,450 rpm and 2,450 ipm, the 0779 provides the power, speed and run-time to drive larger lags, drill bigger holes, and remove larger nuts. The powerful Milwaukee 28V motor makes breaking loose 'stuck' nuts a breeze. The heavy-duty magnesium mechanism housing provides extreme job-site durability. The 0779 comes equipped with comfortable non-slip, soft-grip surfaces that reduce vibration and fatigue. The forward/reverse shuttle is conveniently located above the variable speed switch for fast, easy access. Designed for heavy-duty use, whether driving large lag screws, anchors and bolts, drilling large holes, or removing lug nuts, the 0779 provides the power, comfort and run-time to finish the job. A heavy-duty steel ring (included) can be attached for convenient tethering when working high overhead or for raising/lowering the tool when working from a ladder or utility pole.
