mine's the same as roughrider's is .. if it's in park lights only, fogs won't come on .. have to go to headlights to pull them on .. when i turn back to park it pulls it back in so that is parking only, NO fogs
TNT...I'll bet if you replaced the switch itself, the new one would have the collar removed and your fogs would work in both park and headlights. It's worth a check!
I figured it out.. There's a clip in the switch that keeps it from doin that.. If you play with your fog light switch while pulling it in Park Light mode you'll see your Fogs come on.. I just busted the clip and now they work the way I want em
Plus I just picked up a HID Conversion kit.. So I dunno how much use the Fogs will be now lol.. HID is pretty damn BRIGHT!
My 02 fogs would not come on with out the head lights being on, there was a thread on this site that explained how to pull the switch and jumper two wires, (I forget which 2) and you get fog lights in all postions except off, even on high beams.
Im not sure.. I called my boys at Ford and they checked all the Switches in the parts manual and not a single one indicated whether the fogs come on or not in park light mode.. So weird that Ford would make it like that..
They probably have never had people as crazy as us then!
LOL! Aint that the truth.. Hell we breakin switches to make the fogs come on.. Throwin in HIDs that were never thought of in our trucks.. We just CRAzY!
I have a 2001 Lariat just took the switch apart and notched it were the **** would pull out.... No luck fogs still do not come on with parking lights. Some one mentioned about a wire jumper? Could someone point me in the right direction?
I just tried to get my fogs on w/highbeams last week. I have a '02 XLT and I tried cutting the ground as shown on a thread and of course my '02 has a Oct. '01 build date and the trick did not work. I pulled the headlight switch out and started testing and playing, with a jumper wire I was able to make the fogs stay on w/park, low, and highbeams. I kept playing and have it set up now so that the fogs are on with low and highbeams. The only problem, if you consider it a problem, is that the fogs come on with the headlights and can not be turned off by the switch. If anybody is interested I will pull the switch later and get the numbers of the terminals that I jumped.
By the way the factory switch pulled out in the park and headlamp positions but only powered the fogs in the headlight position and then on lowbeam only.
