I just received an order of used parts from a place that I found on the web. I used a web site that searchs junkyards across the country for your requests, but only two junkyards wrote back. One did not have the parts. I was looking for a replacement passenger side mirror head for a 90 XLT, and a power door lock actuator. The other yard that wrote, R & J Truck Parts, (915) 366-0511, 7821 Andrews Hwy, Odessa, TX 79765, wrote back the next day and had my parts. I got the mirror head and the actuator for $35 plus $15 shipping to Florida. Rene is the person who wrote, and was always very polite and answered all my e-mails promptly. He said all parts are tested. What's more, when I got the box today, not only did he send the mirror head, but also the bracket and all hardware and gaskets. And, not only did he send a working pdl actuator, he sent two of them! This guy went above and beyond. I wholeheartedly recommend him. Unfortunately I don't have his e-mail address anymore. And you all have seen me post here many times, I don't work there or have any vested interest! I just want to recommend a fair businessman who seems to have the parts. Tell him Jeff from Florida recommended him here.
I was just looking at the box, and I gave you the wrong address, or else they have two addresses. The one on the box says 201 West Hillmont, Odessa, TX 79764-2363. The phone number is the same. The man's name is Rene Cuellar, but I still don't remember the e-mail.
No JB,
But I have seen their www site and will ask for some parts such as the EB overhead console.
BTW, nice p/dl article!..Try and get it included in the "Tech Article" section here too.
Be well,
Al
Thanks...I didn't know they had a web site, should be e-mail there too then. And I hope the pdl article helps someone, I put off doing the job for a long time but it wasn't as bad as I thought.
